A DURSLEY dad is bringing his talent for creating home-cooked seasonal dishes to the village of Cam.
Berry Blue Café and Bistro in Noel Lee Way has just welcomed John McDuff, 27, as the new head chef.
Mr McDuff lives in Woodmancote with his wife Kelly and their two children Makayla, eight, and Ffion, two, with another on the way.
He joins Berry Blue after having made his trade at The Salmon in Wandswell, near Berkeley, as well as The Bull at Frampton, and before that he spent his time at hotels and fine dining restaurants around Wales.
"I’ve always been passionate about cooking and using the best local produce in my food," said Mr McDuff.
"It’s fantastic to be able to work so close to home, cooking for familiar faces and using produce that Berry Blue grows at its farm in Cam."
Marketing and event manager Claire Marshall said the experienced chef was bringing in a brand new bistro menu to replace the Mexican kitchen which runs from Thursday to Saturday after 6pm.
"It’s a really exciting time for the café," she said.
"He is really into using simple produce and this works well with using what we grow at our farm.
"The idea is that we are able to be flexible with some of the dishes so we can use as much local and seasonal produce as possible."
