Stroud District Loyalty Card scheme, which offers promotions to local shops as well as McDonalds and Subway, is proving a great success

A LOYALTY card scheme aimed at helping businesses in the district has proved to be a great success.
The Stroud District Loyalty Card encourages customers to use local businesses by offering exclusive promotions and discounts.
Similar schemes run in eight areas in the country but Stroud is the first to have 100 businesses sign up.
Cllr Roger Sanders, executive member for regeneration, said it was great news that the card was proving so successful.
"Whilst similar schemes are being run in a few towns, we’re the first to run the scheme across an entire district. We want to help our high streets and encourage local people to buy from local businesses," he said.
"Our shops, cafes, restaurants and tradespeople are open for business and this card helps show that."
To use it, customers simply show their loyalty card to participating businesses to get the offer.
Residents can pick up their cards from tourist information centres, the Ebley Mill council offices or at participating businesses listed at www.my-loyalty-card.com/stroud Any business can sign up, whether an independent or big-chain store, and can do so by emailing admin@my-loyalty-card.com
