Man arrested following sexual assault on Wotton Road in Charfield

A MAN in his 20s was arrested yesterday after a woman was sexually assaulted in Charfield.
The victim was attacked on Wotton Road at around 2.30am on Sunday.
A man was arrested in the afternoon. He is still being questioned by police.
The woman is currently receiving support from specially trained officers.
An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: “We are investigating a serious sexual assault on an woman in Wotton Road, Charfield.
“An investigation was launched and on Sunday afternoon a man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody.”
