A MOTHER and daughter from Cam saw their mutual love of dogs stand out at Crufts this year.

Professional dog-groomer Christina Suiter, 48, and her 22-year-old daughter Emma triumphed with their kooikerhondjes at the famous national competition.

The pair excelled with 11-month-old Freya who came first in the special junior bitch category as well as being crowned best puppy in breed.

Six-year-old Elliot also performed well in the competition that ran through March, bagging a respectable second in the open category.

Christina, who has run dog parlour Doggy Fashions at her home in Woodfield for six years, praised her daughter for her performance in the ring while juggling her studies at the Royal Veterinary College in London.

"I think she did really really well, it was an amazing time, it really was brilliant," said Christina.

"It is definitely getting harder and there is a much bigger turnout for kooikerhondje dogs but we’ll definitely be doing it again next year."
