A TWO-time BAFTA winner and screenwriter behind the Wallace And Gromit television series gave Thornbury pupils an insight into the fascinating world of animation.

Bob Baker, who has received two industry awards for his Wallace and Gromit movie scripts A Matter of Loaf and Death and The Wrong Trousers, dropped by Crossways Infant School to share his experience and creative tips with the star-struck children.

Mr Baker was awarded an Oscar for his work on the Aardman team. He was also one of the writers on BBC’s Dr Who for ten years and created one of its characters K-9.

School administrator Laura Mann said: "The children had questions prepared to pose to him about his life and career.

"Everyone was inspired by Bob Baker’s stories and achievements which will be available for all to read in his autobiography out soon."
