Suited, Booted, Recruited hold Waitrose recruitment course for jobseekers in Yate and Chipping Sodbury
WOULD-BE Waitrose workers have been given a helping hand onto the career ladder with a tailor-made course on how to get a job with the firm.
Suited, Booted, Recruited (SBR), a Bristol-based training provider, held a customised course for people currently out of work who are keen to work at a new supermarket, currently under construction in Chipping Sodbury.
The 32 candidates, put forward by Job Centre Plus in Yate, were given interview tips including body language, the perfect hand shake and entering a room with confidence. The group also completed Employability and Customer Service qualifications, leant how to create compelling CVs and took part in mock interviews.
Unique to the course, held at the Armadillo Youth Café in Yate, the group learnt about the Waitrose brand, company values, culture and expectations. They also completed online applications and participated in mock interviews that reflect the interview process the group will undertake with Waitrose.
Synonymous with all SBR courses, participants were provided with a free suit.
Sarah Kopera, from the training firm, said: “Working with an employer to create a tailored course has been a huge benefit to both the company and course participants.
“The SBR team is eager to work with other employers that are looking to recruit new staff. The course created for Waitrose has been a great success and the formula could easily transfer to the needs of other organisations.”
Waitrose, which is due to open its new Chipping Sodbury store in October has guaranteed all course participants an interview.
