Use it or lose it says Dursley centre on snooker facilities
THE CHANTRY Centre in Dursley is on the hunt for the town’s very own Judd Trump before it calls time on its snooker facility.
The centre on Long Street, formerly the Lister Hall, has one of the few full-sized snooker tables in the area but because it is seeing little use the trustees running the centre are considering its future.
Manager Mark Prowse said: "It’s sad to see it just sitting there but if there is little or no interest in playing snooker in Dursley then we will probably have to sell it so that the space can be used for other things."
While the table may be facing the exit, the Chantry Centre is still considering becoming home to a snooker club or making the table available on a more regular basis for public hire if the interest is there.
Before coming to a final decision, the trustees would welcome ideas and views from nearby snooker players.
