Vegetable Olympics set for Frampton-on-Severn
OLYMPIC fever continues in Frampton-on-Severn as the village gears up for its own sporting event with a twist.
On Saturday (August 17) the Three Horseshoes Pub on The Green will be holding the Vegetable Olympics 2013, which includes the turnip toss, potato croquet and carrot javelin.
Indoor events, such as sprout peeling and pea-blowing, are also planned on the day, with the games starting at 1pm.
Landlady Jess O’Gorman hosted the wacky games last year and it proved to be a big success, with many participants seeking a re-match.
Previous competitor Rich Almond said: "I really enjoyed last year’s Vegetable Olympics and many people from different walks of life did too. Not to mention my team won so now we have a title to defend."
