Open day set for A-level students at Stroud
AS students across the Stroud district prepare to receive their A-levels tomorrow, the local authority gets set to put on an event to help them decide what to do next.
The National Careers Service, in partnership with Stroud District Council, is hosting an event on Friday, August 16 to support young people after their big day.
This free drop-in event requires no advance booking and will be held in the council chamber at Stroud District Council’s Ebley Mill offices in Stroud from 10am until 3pm.
A qualified careers adviser will be present to give impartial and individual advice to the students and to answer any questions which they may have.
Students will also be made aware of the free support available to them via the National Careers Service website and telephone number.
Cllr Geoff Wheeler, leader of Stroud District Council, said: "Results day is a stressful and nerve-wracking time for students and many will need advice on what to do next.
"This event will help students, whether they achieve the grades they need or not, by making them aware about the options open to them so that they can make informed decisions about their future."
