Marie Curie Cancer Care charity support group in Yate and Chipping Sodbury needs more members
A CANCER charity support group in Yate and Chipping Sodbury is appealing for more members to help raise further funds.
The local fundraising group for Marie Curie Cancer Care is recruiting extra volunteers to donate their time and help organise events.
The group formed in March 2012 and since then has raised over £3,500 in the Yate and Sodbury area.
That money has funded over 175 hours of end of life care to terminally ill patients within their own home.
Community fundraiser for Marie Cure Cancer Care, Natalie Taylor, said: "There are so many benefits to joining a fundraising group including meeting new people in your area, getting involved in your community, sharing new experiences and having fun, raising money to provide care to terminally ill people and receiving expert support and advice from the local Marie Curie fundraising teams."
Anyone interested in finding out more about the fundraising group should contact local community fundraiser Natalie Taylor on 01179 247 275 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The group is holding an information session for new volunteers on Tuesday, September 10 (7pm) at Costa Coffee in Yate Shopping Centre.
