Wotton man faces trial for having cocaine with intent to supply
A WOTTON-under-Edge man is facing trial in the New Year after he pleaded not guilty to having cocaine with intent to supply.
At Gloucester Crown Court Richard Ashton, of Kiln Terrace, Gloucester Street, Wotton, admitted being concerned in the production of cannabis betwen May and October last year, abstracting electricity and possessing amphetamines.
But he denied having cocaine with intent on October 9, 2012 and notified the court that his defence would be "I had it - but I didn't know anything about it."
Prosecutor Julian Kesner said 126 grammes of cocaine worth £6,000 to £8,000 was involved.
Judge Jamie Tabor QC granted Ashton bail until a case management hearing on November 8. He said a trial date would be set then.
