Cotswold Care Hospice needs drivers
COTSWOLD Care Hospice is appealing for volunteer drivers to provide transport for patients.
Volunteers are needed to drive the charity’s adapted vehicle for wheelchair users. Training, which only takes an hour, will be provided and volunteers are only expected to do a few hours on one day of the week.
Volunteer manager Suzie McDonnell said: "Without this vital service, many people in our community would not get the support they need at a difficult time in their life.
"Their visits to the hospice provide them with the opportunity to meet other people who are in the same position as themselves, living with a life-limiting illness.
"It is a lifeline for our patients who use wheelchairs and who cannot get in and out of cars."
Volunteers need to use their own cars and will receive mileage costs.
Drivers need to be aged over 25 years old and under 70 and have fully comprehensive insurance.
