Cancer Research UK's Yate shop in need of volunteers for Tesco collections
A YATE charity shop is appealing for volunteers to help in a collection drive this month.
Staff at the Cancer Research UK store in Yate Shopping Centre will be at Tesco Extra on Tuesday, September 17, Wednesday, September 18 and Thursday, September 19 handing out donation bags for a nationwide one-off stock appeal this month.
But they need more volunteers to help out.
Shop manager Debbie Hopkins said they were looking for people to give up two hours of their time.
“Over 300 Tesco stores across the UK are taking part in the donation drive which aims to raise £1 million worth of donated goods in just two weeks,” she said. “And we urgently need an army of volunteers to help us make this possible.
“Customers will be invited to take the bags home with their shopping and fill them up with good quality items they no longer need or like, then bring the bags back the following week.”
Every bag donated could be worth as much as £30 to Cancer Research UK shops.
