Man left with potentially life-threatening injuries following collision in Dursley
AN 18-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car crashed into a lamp post in Dursley yesterday.
At around 4.50am on Sunday, September 15 a single vehicle collision happened on the Dursley Road in Sandpits.
A grey Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin collided with a lamppost whilst travelling towards Cam.
There were several passengers in the car and a 19-year-old man from Berkeley suffered serious, potentially life-threatening injuries and he currently remains in Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
The 18-year-old woman, from Dursley, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving following the collision and has been bailed to return to the police station on December 5, pending further enquiries.
A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said four men, aged between 20 and 25, were also arrested following the incident.
Three were arrested on suspicion of drink driving whilst another was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. No further action is being taken against them.
The road was closed for approximately seven hours whilst the emergency services worked at the scene.
