Scarecrow festival returning to North Nibley
SAILORS and ships may be spotted in North Nibley this weekend as the village gears up for its annual scarecrow festival.
The optional theme of the British seaside has been chosen for the festival's sixth year, with a special session being held at the village hall on Friday from 3pm to 7pm to show people tips and tricks to make their own scarecrow.
It is suggested that you bring along your own materials or give a small donation for materials provided.
On Saturday make sure your scarecrow is out for passers-by to admire as the village shop will be open all day for hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks, as well as selling plants, books and much more.
There will also be a barbecue lunch outside the village hall, weather permitting, from 2pm.
On Sunday from 11am the village hall will be hosting teas, homemade cakes and light lunches as well as the auction of the late Brian Lancaster’s art collection.
All proceeds from the weekend will go to North Nibley Village Shop and the village hall.
