Chantry Centre receives valuable donation
THE CHANTRY Centre has just received a valuable donation of two large whiteboards for its considerable skittles contingent.
The Dursley centre, which was renamed from Lister Hall earlier this year, hosts 17 skittles teams, which were finding that the old scoring boards were beginning to look their age.
Manager of the centre on Long Street, Mark Prowse, set about looking for any companies willing to lend a hand to the charity organisation that runs the building.
Special products manager Neil Lawrence said his company, Sundeala, was happy to do its part.
"We were approached and we like to lend a helping hand to charities when we can," he said.
"Lots of employees use the centre so it is good to help out, good to put something back into the community."
Mr Prowse said he was very happy with the donation.
"Our old skittle boards were in a hell of a mess to be honest so we are very glad they have helped us," he said.
"These will be very well received by the teams. Because we are so new, any help is received with great thanks."
