A TV documentary shedding new light on the gruesome murder of Thornbury’s late vicar and featuring never-seen before interviews with the Gazette’s local reporter will premiere tonight.

When Life Means Life will explore the days leading up to and immediately following the discovery of the Reverend John Suddards’s body at the new vicarage on February 14, 2012, Stephen Farrow’s subsequent arrest, trial and conviction to life in prison for the deaths of the priest and a retired teacher.

The programme will be broadcast on the Crime and Investigation Network at 9pm.

In the 46-minute episode, Thornbury reporter Marion Sauvebois will share her insight into the crime which sent shockwaves through the town and beyond and her recollections of its aftermath. The documentary includes material and images from the Gazette’s extensive coverage of the case.

Mr Suddards was stabbed to death at his home in the night of February 13. Builders hired to carry out repairs at the vicarage discovered his lifeless body the following morning.
