SCORES of visitors attended Uley Women’s Institute’s “dabble day” to try their hands at various handicrafts.
Around 40 people visited the day-long event at Uley Village Hall and each of them was given the chance to have a go at knitting, crocheting , painting, drawing and even sugar crafting.
And with tea and cakes being served throughout the day, president of the 68-strong group Sally Lamerton said the event on Saturday, September 31 was great fun.
“I think everybody enjoyed it enormously. There was a good hum of activity,” she said.
“The reason for holding the event was that I felt, as others did, that we do have quite a lot of talent amongst us. There was about eight members there showing what they can do and they are real experts in their fields. I thought it was time to show them off.”
