Knife-wielding man attacks and spits at Dursley wife

A DURSLEY man went into his ex-wife’s home, slashed the duvet on her bed and then spat on her face.
Jeffrey Gavin Wood was found guilty of charges of common assault and criminal damage at a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates Court.
Wood, 45, of Long Street, Dursley entered the property on August 17, went up to Carol Watkin’s bedroom and then slashed the duvet on her bed with a knife.
When Mrs Watkins discovered him in the room he then spat in her face before she slapped him in the face.
After this the son of the estranged couple, Jamie Watkins entered the room and broke up the argument.
Wood, then left the house after kicking the bedroom door.
Wood pleaded guilty to the charges at a previous hearing and appeared this week for sentencing.
He was given a two-year restraining order against Mrs Watkins, a community order under 12 months supervision and ordered to pay £60 for a victims surcharge.
He was also given a two-year restraining order against his son, Jamie Watkins, at his own request.
