Firefighters cut woman free from her car after collision on Scott Way, Yate

FIREFIGHTERS freed a woman trapped in her car after a collision in Yate last night.
The driver, a woman in her twenties, had to be cut free from her vehicle following the accident at 5.36pm on Monday.
It happened on Scott Way, at the junction with Shackleton Avenue, and involved one car and a bollard.
One fire crew from Yate Fire Station attended the incident, as well as police and paramedics.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman Stephanie Mounsey said: “On arrival, firefighters found a woman in her twenties trapped in her vehicle.
“Using hydraulic cutting equipment they removed the roof of the vehicle. Working alongside paramedics the woman was assisted on to a spinal board and taken to hospital.”
The rush hour accident caused severe traffic delays around Yate.
