FAMILY and friends of the A46 crash victim Yasmin Richards have left heartfelt tributes to their 'angel'.

The 21-year-old hairdresser from Alveston died on Saturday after her car was involved in a head-on collision north of Bath.

In a statement released by Avon and Somerset Police, Yasmin's family said: “Yasmin our beautiful inspirational girl.

“Absolutely gorgeous inside and out – you are our world."

Yasmin had recently joined the team at the George Street branch of Artizan hairdressers in Bath.

Director Matt Carr paid tribute to his stylist and friend.

“Yasmin joined us only two months ago but in that short period of time the impact, of her amazing nature, has been profound,” he said. “We have never come across anyone as positive as Yasmin.

“She understood about putting other people first and giving the absolute best of her ability. She truly loved her job and we all loved her.”

On the Artizan website Yasmin is described as someone who would brighten up your day.

Speaking about her work, she said: "I will always welcome you with a smile and make sure that your visit gives you the best possible outcome for your hair.”

Friends expressed their devastation on Twitter. Ali McAndrew wrote, “Life’s so precious. R.I.P Yasmin Richards, so many good old memories I have with you.”

Harvey Skelton said: “Still don't get why it had to be you... Literally feels like yesterday that we were out together.”

Mr Carr added: “She was astonishingly beautiful but she also had a pure and beautiful spirit, which is rare indeed.

"We thought of her as our princess but also as an angel because you truly could not find anything negative in her.

“People often say such things when tragedies happen but all of these things were true of Yasmin. She was perceptive, kind and so wise for her years."

"We can't believe this has happened and we are all so tremendously upset but we know Yasmin would want us to keep our chins up and plough on because that is what she was like.

“She was an inspiration to us all, we will miss her dearly.”

Yasmin was driving a Ford Ka southbound along the A46 towards Bath at about 9.30am on Saturday morning when her car collided with a Range Rover travelling in the opposite direction.

Police closed a section of road between Nimlet and the Cold Ashton roundabout in both directions until around 3pm.

Crews carried out investigation work and cleared wreckage and oil from a 150-yard stretch of the road.

Collision investigators are appealing for witnesses. They would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to contact them.

Anyone able to help is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on the force number 101.
