AN EVENT to draw attention to the best features of Wotton-under-Edge is taking place in the town this weekend.
The In Our Towns campaign, which has been running in the region since the summer, was set up after television personality Mary Portas’ review of British high streets.
With £10,000 in government funding, matched by Stroud District Council, the focus is to be on promoting events and entertainment in the town centres of Dursley, Painswick, Stroud and Wotton.
It aims to encourage more people to visit their local towns by promoting festivals and independent shops.
In Our Towns will be taking over Wotton town hall on Market Street on Saturday, December 7 from 10.30am to 12pm.
Representatives of the town’s businesses, festivals and events will be gathering to discuss all that Wotton offers visitors and residents.
