DURSLEY Friends at Christmas is looking for people to help cook and entertain guests on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Last year there were 50 guests over the two days at Dursley Methodist Church who would otherwise have spent Christmas alone.
A fresh, home-cooked lunch is provided, and the guests are entertained with singing, games and quizzes but volunteers are being sought to help bring some Christmas cheer for those in need.
Co-ordinator Indigo Redfern said Dursley Friends at Christmas was a lovely and heart-warming event.
“Churches Together have given £500 to cover the costs, and at this point we have no cooks, no entertainers, no drivers, no helpers! It’s an act of faith each year that everything will come together in time,” she said.
“Each year I’m overwhelmed by people’s generosity in donating their time, food and gifts to make this happen.”
