Uley crossroads to receive extensive resurfacing by Gloucestershire Highways

THE B4066 crossroads in Uley will be receiving a makeover this week, as Gloucestershire Highways begin resurfacing the road between Hill Farm, Coronation Cottage and the Frocester crossroads.

The resurfacing work will see Gloucestershire Highways using 1,640 tonnes of material on 3.1km or road between Hill Farm, Coronation Cottage and the Frocester crossroads.

The works starts today and will finish on December 16 from 7.30am to 5pm.

As Frocester Hill will be closed whilst the work is being conducted, a diversion route has been made with signs directing drivers via Selsley, Ebley Bypass, Chipmans Platt, the A38, Claypits and Eastington.

Whilst the work is being carried out, people who live and work on the roads being resurfaced will have access.

Cabinet member for highways and flood, Vernon Smith, said: “Thank you in advance to people for their co-operation and patience. I appreciate that works like this do cause inconvenience and we’ve done our best to keep residents and businesses informed.

“Should anyone require assistance with access to their property or workplace, please speak to the contractors on site who will assist in any way they can.”

Cllr Stephen Lydon, county councillor for Dursley, said: “This much needed work is more than welcome and I’m glad it’s being done.
