THE NATIVITY will come to life in Wotton-under-Edge as churches come together to celebrate the birth of Christ.

The annual Living Crib service unites six churches in Wotton to bring the message of Christmas home on Saturday, December 14.

Members of Churches Together in Wotton act out a nativity play featuring real animals and a newborn baby.

A donkey leads the procession, which leaves Ludgate Hill at 5pm, heading to the Baptist Church in Rope Walk.

The popular event asks for actors from all the churches; St Mary's Church of England, Wotton Baptist Church, Wotton United Church, The Quakers, Holy Cross Catholic Church and Synwell Chapel.

The parts of angels and accompanying shepherds are open to all children.

If you’d like to take part, either visit the Baptist Church at 11.15am on the day of the Living Crib or contact Frances on 01453 842822.
