ONE half of baking duo the Fabulous Baker Brothers offered children some tips on festive food during a free day of fun in Chipping Sodbury.
Tom Herbert, who stars in the television series with his brother Henry, helped youngsters make gingerbread and decorate Christmas shaped cookies at his family’s cookery school above the Hobbs House shop on High Street.
More than 80 children iced their own biscuits while their parents supped on mulled cider and asked cookery questions of the TV chef.
Tom told the Gazette: “The aim of the day was to open up the shop to the community and invite everyone to come along.
“And of course we were able to bring some Christmas cheer and share a few decorating tips.”
At the event, visitors were asked to bring donations for the Yate and Chipping Sodbury Foodbank. The service, based in Yate, provides needy families with food parcels following referrals from various agencies.
