A NEW edition of a popular history journal has hit the shelves.
The Dursley Lantern, free to Dursley & Cam Society members, is now on sale to the public for £5.
The editions are on sale at the Dursley Heritage Centre from Saturday, December 14.
At the end of January it will also be available for sale at Wildwood Flowers on Parsonage Street.
Copies of earlier editions still prove popular and are also on sale in the Heritage Centre.
The latest Lanterm contains a wide variety of articles about local history, including exploring the Dursley Church Clock and Edwin Budding, the inventor of the lawnmower.
Wartime memories of the Dursley area and a history of Dursley’s bus services also feature.
This edition also contains a unique tribute to the late Dursley social worker Lionel Ayliffe. The lifelong Liberal died this June aged 96.
Dursley & Cam Society has been running for over 30 years and meets in Dursley Town Hall on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm. All visitors are very welcome.
