SHOPPERS in Chipping Sodbury were serenaded by carol singers at a special festive market on Saturday (December 14).
An extended farmers’ market on the pitchings in High Street saw stall holders selling tempting Christmas treats, presents and decorations at the event aimed to bring more people to the town.
Chipping Sodbury-based choir Voices Together sang seasonal songs as hundreds of people browsed the market, organised by Sodbury Chamber of Commerce.
Chairman Mark Lloyd said: “It went very well and was busy all morning.
“It was the biggest Christmas market we have had yet and there was a very good mix of arts and crafts and jewellery stalls. We had two local breweries take part and there were Christmas trees on sale.”
Mr Lloyd, a member of Chipping Sodbury Rotary Club, also held a collection in aid of Shelter Box’s Syria appeal which raised £488.
