A SHEPHERD from Thornbury completed a new 5km nativity fun run - but turned up without a flock of sheep.
Mark Wallis, 54, was a picture in peach for the event, which was held to raise money for CAFOD, the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development.
A civil servant in real life, Mark said: “CAFOD’s work is so important and this was a great way to mark the festive period, helping to raise some money and having a bit of fun at the same time.”
The fun run was held at St Brendan's Sixth Form College in Brislington, Bristol, and organised by the Clifton Diocese, which covers Bristol, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset.
Once all the 50 competitors have collected their sponsorship, it is expected to raise hundreds of pounds for CAFOD's work overseas. Currently it is helping to lead emergency relief efforts in the devastated typhoon-hit Philippines.
Diocesan manager David Brinn said: “This was the first nativity fun run CAFOD had held outside London and it was a great success."
