STUDENTS and staff at Chipping Sodbury School are helping the homeless this Christmas after collecting food parcels for two charities.

They have donated food and toiletries to help needy people in Bristol this winter. But their generosity will also help people living on the streets throughout the year.

The items will be split between Caring at Christmas, provides a meal and shelter over the festive period for some of the homeless of Bristol, and the Julian Trust, which runs Bristol night shelter throughout the rest of the year.

Student house co-ordinator Jo Strange, who organised the collection, said: “The students and staff have shown a huge empathy for the homeless and their response has been amazing.

“The night shelter was absolutely delighted with the gifts of food and toiletries. Well done and thank you to all who contributed, it’s been a fabulous effort.”
