FOUR out of five shops in Cam, Dursley, Berkeley and Wotton-under-Edge refused to serve alcohol to underage test purchasers during an operation in the area over the weekend.
A 14-year-old child and 15-year-old child who had been asked to take part, accompanied an officer from the local policing team as they visited a supermarket, newsagents and off-licences.
The officer waited outside while the children attempted to buy various alcoholic drinks.
Staff at all the shops except a newsagents in Wotton-under-Edge refused to let the children buy the booze, representing an 80% success rate.
The staff member at the shop that failed had to pay a fixed penalty notice and the manager was spoken to by officers.
