THE FIRST recruitment drive by Gloucestershire Police in over three years began this week as they search for new police constables.

On Monday, January 6, Gloucestershire Constabulary started its search for motivated, dedicated and resourceful individuals to join in what will be the force's 175th year.

It has been more than three years since the county's police force last recruited externally and Chief Constable Suzette Davenport said she is looking forward to welcoming the new recruits.

"We are looking for a group of dedicated individuals, committed to what can sometimes be a very difficult job," she said.

"However, I believe it's a privilege to be a police officer and the right people will find it a hugely rewarding experience."
