POLICE are appealing for the public’s help to track down jewellery which was stolen in a burglary in Bradley Stoke.

Detectives investigating a burglary in the Brook Way area of Bradley Stoke Way in Bradley Stoke have released photographs of some of the items of jewellery stolen in the break-in.

It happened on Saturday, December 21, between 3.30pm and 6.15pm, when thieves forced a window to get into the house.

The stolen jewellery includes necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and chains.

DC Alastair Binnie said: "This break in is obviously very upsetting for the family as the jewellery is of great sentimental value to them, and I'd ask anyone with any information which can help us recover the items to call me on 101, quoting reference 127358/13.

"I'd also like to hear from you if you were in the area around Brook Way and Bradley Stoke Way on Saturday, December 21 – you may have seen something which could help our investigation."

The family have been visited by neighbourhood PCSOs and Avon and Somerset Constabulary’s Bobby Van crime prevention carpenter and offered support and security advice. The force has had a number of reported burglaries in South Gloucestershire where thieves appear to have been looking for high value jewellery.

Anyone with valuable jewellery is urged to keep items in a safe which has been tested to 'Sold Secure' standard. Police also suggest taking a set of photographs and keeping those in a safe place with descriptions of the items.

DC Binnie added: "Please call us straight away if you see anyone acting suspiciously around a neighbour's house or garden. We'd prefer to get a call made in good faith rather than have another family come home to find they've been burgled."

Anyone with any information is asked to call the South Gloucestershire Priority Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
