Police appeal for information after New Year assaults at Cheltenham nightclub

POLICE in Cheltenham are appealing for information after two assaults at Moomoo nightclub on Regent Street in the early hours of New Year's Day.

In the first incident, which happened between 1.15am and 1.30am, an 18-year-old man was hit across the face as he left the toilets, leaving him with a perforated eardrum.

The offender is described as a black man, between 5ft 6ins tall and 6ft tall, 30-45 years old, of stocky build and with shaved dark hair in a crew cut style. He was wearing a black shirt.

Anyone who witnessed the encounter should call 101 and quote incident 222 of January 1.

In the second incident, which happened between 1.40am and 1.50am, a 26-year-old Cheltenham woman was struck in the face by another woman outside the club, leaving her with swelling around the eye.

Officers investigating this case would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the assault to come forward, quoting incident 130 of January 1.
