GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council will be holding a fostering and adoption drop-in session at Wotton-under-Edge Library, Ludgate Hill, GL12 7JJ on Tuesday 28th January.

People are invited to come along and have a chat with members of the team about fostering and adoption between 2 and 6pm. There will also be a foster carer on hand for some of the time, talking about their experience of fostering.

The county council accepts applications to foster and adopt from all sectors of society. All children are different, and to meet their needs the county council is looking for a wide variety of people.

The county council is keen to hear from people looking to foster and adopt children of all ages including babies and toddlers. There is also a real need for people to foster teenagers and also adopt and foster children with disabilities and groups of brothers and sisters. There is no upper age limit to foster or adopt and people can come from all walks of life.

The county council aims to approve adopters within six months from their registration of interest. On average foster carers are approved within five months of accepting their application to foster. Those interested in fostering or adoption must have a spare room available.
