AN ENERGY supplier based in Gloucestershire has beaten national competition to become the firm with the highest level of customer satisfaction in a new survey.

Green energy company Ecotricity has come joint first in the annual Which? energy company survey for consumer satisfaction.

With its headquarters based in Stroud, the firm was also one of only two energy companies to improve their score compared to last year.

Research by marketing company Which? revealed overall customer score for energy companies serving the UK has dropped from 49 per cent to a all-time low of 41 per cent in a year.

But Ecotricity is enjoying a score of 82 per cent, improving from last year’s 80 per cent.

The survey was conducted during October and November, a month after Ecotricity announced it was freezing prices in the face of a near universal price hike by national energy firms.
