PEOPLE across the West Country are being encouraged to sign up for Sport Relief and join famous faces in raising money for a series of projects across the region.
In 2012 generous participants raised and donated more than £1 million for 140 projects in the area, including an organisation for young women who self-harm.
This year, money will be used to help many people living in difficult circumstances.
Those signing up can run, swim or cycle at the Sainsbury’s Sport Games across one weekend from March 21-21, with events taking place in Bristol, Gloucester, Taunton and many other locations.
Former Winter Olympian and Bath resident, Amy Williams, said: "The money people raise is crucial and will help people living incredibly tough lives right here in the West, around the UK and in the world’s poorest countries."
Among celebrities taking part will be Davina McCall, who will travel across the UK under her own steam by running, swimming and cycling for seven days.
Anyone keen to be involved should log onto www.sportrelief.com."
