A SMALL child has been left with life-threatening injuries after an accident this morning.

The young child was seriously injured in a collision in Bristol.

It happened at around 10.15am on Hastings Road. Police said the collision involved a Land Rover and trailer.

A spokesman said: "The child has been taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary with life-threatening injuries.

"Hastings Road has been closed while the emergency services respond to the incident and we begin an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101."
