YATE Town Council’s annual civic service will celebrate the community when it takes place next week.

The service, in the auditorium of Yate International Academy, is taking place on Wednesday, February 5 (7pm).

For this years’ service, town mayor Cllr Wully Perks has chosen to celebrate ‘all that is good’ in Yate and show recognition of the work carried out by local volunteers, businesses, police, civil servants and all who support such groups and organisations.

The service will reflect the theme by including performances by the Ridgewood Community Singers, South Gloucestershire Music Hub as well as a youth group from the Yate Urbie Detached youth project. Community Police Inspector Robert Evely will give a talk, along with representatives of CASAL (Care and Support after Loss) and The Food Bank.

The council will be displaying boards with details of local groups and organisations in Yate with pictures showing the kind of things the various groups undertake. Anyone who would like details of their group included in the display should send information to Sally Johnston at Yate Town Council, Poole Court, Poole Court Drive, Yate, South Gloucestershire, BS37 5PP or email it to info@yatetowncouncil.gov.uk

Light refreshments will be served at the end of the service giving everyone an opportunity to network and view the displays.

All are welcome to the service, if you would like to attend but have not received an invitation contact the town council on 01454 866506.
