FROM TVs to toilet seats, everything was available at the Great British Giveaway event held in Cam at the weekend.

Members of Cam’s 3C Community Church were offering gifts for free, which had been donated over the last few weeks, ranging from various electrical goods, lamps, high quality clothes, books as well as toys and clothes for children.

With everything going free on the special occasion at the Cam Parish Council Office, and with tea, coffee and face-painting for the children available, it proved to be a popular event on Saturday, January 25.

3C Community Church’s Rev Noel Fellowes said it was great to see the community coming out for the day, which he believed saw “well over” 100 people come through the doors.

“There’s lots of people who need things, a lot of poor people in our community that do need things and it helps to fill that gap,” he said.

“It also means that for those that have more than they need, they can donate their items to the community rather than sell it on Ebay.”

Mr Fellowes said it was also a good opportunity for people to talk and get advice about things such as the availability of the local food bank.

Following the success of the last two events, the church group plans to hold another Great British Giveaway in a few months time.
