FIRE crews were called to a three-car crash on the M4.
It happened at 6.49pm last night on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 20 and 19.
One man, the driver of a Ford Focus, was injured and firefighters found him still in the vehicle when they arrived at the scene.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman James Bladon said: “Crews provided initial First Aid to the driver of that vehicle. When ambulance crews arrived he was assisted from the vehicle and taken to hospital.
“He did not need cutting out of the car.”
Crews attending were from Southmead, Patchway and Temple fire stations. The Ford Focus driver, who is in his fifties, is not believed to have suffered serious injuries. No-one else was injured in the accident.
