A 32-YEAR-OLD man has admitted twice assaulting a Dursley woman but denies he involved his bull terrier dog in one of the attacks.
At Gloucester Crown Court Joel Armstrong, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to assaulting Donna Grange causing her actual bodily harm on August 15, 2012 and again on October 1, 2013.
The first charge relates to him stabbing her and the second, which happened in Oak Drive, Dursley, was an assault which caused a fractured eye socket.
The prosecution had alleged that during the second assault he held her head down and encouraged his dog to attack her.
However, the basis of Armstrong's guilty pleas today was that the dog was not involved.
Judge Jamie Tabor QC remanded Armstrong in custody and ordered a pre-sentence report on him.
He said he would pass sentence on February 26.
