THREE future steel workers are building a career path for themselves after being taken on as apprentices by a Yate company.
Billington Structures, on Station Road, has recruited the teenagers as part of its expanding apprenticeship scheme.
Josh Stock, 17 and from Chipping Sodbury, Cameron Philpot, 18 and from Yate and 17-year-old Bradley Thomas, from Stockwood, were taken on by the firm in December and January.
All are students at City of Bristol College and have joined the programme at the Yate factory which is run in conjunction with local training provider Brunel and Gordano and The City of Bristol College.
They will work towards an advanced apprenticeship in fabrication and welding.
Works manager at the Yate plant, Roger Hale, said: “Billingtons are confident that these new apprentices will make a success of the opportunity they have been given.”
