THORNBURY Arts Festival will be celebrating 45 years in the forthcoming annual ten day festival due to start on May 9.

One of Britain’s best loved personalities, Pam Ayres, is returning to Thornbury to play her part in the celebrations. It is over a decade since her last sell-out visit.

She brings her own unique brand of entertainment to The Armstrong Hall event on Sunday, May 11. Recently Pam has been presenting Ayres On Air on Radio 4 with sketches, poetry and anecdotes told in her refreshingly cosy manner.

She will share her latest collection of witty, sometimes poignant, and comic poems in her soft country burr.

Pam constantly manages to leave her audience agog with tales of becoming a grandmother for the first time, wishing her husband was more dashing, exploding wardrobes and her dog being afraid of the posh new toaster.

Audiences can expect everything more from Pam Ayres who has been an entertainer for over 35 years but always comes up with new insights into everyday life.

It is a date not to be missed.
