A MAN was cut free from his car following a road traffic collision in Over Lane, Almondsbury on Wednesday (February 12).

When firefighters arrived at the scene they found two vehicles involved – a Ford Focus and a Renault Clio.

The three occupants of the Focus were already out and unharmed, however the driver of the Clio was trapped and complaining of neck and back pain.

After stabilising the vehicle, crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car.

Working alongside paramedics the man was assisted on to a spinal board and taken to hospital.
