YOUNG chefs have been given a slice of the world of celebrity cuisine at a pizza-making workshop with Fabulous Baker Brother Tom Herbert.
Around 50 children had a taste of a cookery masterclass at the free drop-in session at Hobbs House Bakery’s school in Chipping Sodbury on Monday morning.
Part of a programme of free half-term events at the cookery school, the pizza class saw children roll out pre-made dough and spread it with tomato sauce, prepared by Tom’s brother and fellow star of the television series The Fabulous Baker Brothers Henry, before piling their creations high with a selection of toppings.
Tom told the Gazette: “It was really good, we had people queuing round the corner to come in.
“We had all ages from grandparents to a three-year-old making pizzas and there were some inventive ones with clown face decorations.”
He added: “It is all part of us trying to give something back to the community.
“Although it was free we asked for donations to the Yate and Sodbury Foodbank and people were very generous with food items and monetary gifts.”
