POLICE are appealing for help to find a van driver who assaulted a taxi driver in Yate.
The driver of the white transit van stopped the taxi driver, who had three passengers in the vehicle, near B&Q on Station Road.
It happened at about 00.10am on Sunday (February 16).
A police spokesman said: "A man got out of the van and opened the door of the taxi and assaulted the driver. He required hospital treatment and was released the following day.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time who may have information to help our enquiries.
"Anyone able to help is asked to contact South Gloucestershire CID on the force number 101, quoting reference 16115/14."
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries
