MARLWOOD School have received a fully automatic defibrillator.

School nurse Lynda Norris said: "It is a wonderful piece of equipment and fully automatic. It talks you through the process so anyone can use it. We have to thank Brian Davidge one of our longest serving school governors, who has recently retired, for his enthusiasm and tireless fundraising allowing us to make this purchase. Marlwood School is now a safer place for our children, staff and visitors."

The school’s deputy headteacher, Charles Reed, the costs for the defibrillator came from kind donations from Almondsbury Hospital Charity, Thornbury Lions and Thornbury Grammar School Foundation.

"To these we offer our sincere thanks. We are also proud of the £500 which was raised by our own pupils and which was put towards the purchase.”
