LITTLE bakers in Hillesley learnt how to make their own bread at a special workshop.
Children at Hillesley Primary School were taught about the benefits of healthy eating at the start of the month.
School visitors from the bread company Warburtons stopped by to discuss nutrition and what makes up good lunches.
A school spokesman said: “The two visitors talked about healthy eating with our Key Stage 2 pupils and then helped them made some bread to take home.
“The children really enjoyed the experience, particularly eating the delicious bread that they had made.”
Linked to the national curriculum, the workshops aim to be educationally valuable while providing the children with a fun, hands-on learning experience.
Warburtons is the UK's leading independent baker and produces over two million loaves, rolls and crumpets each day.
It was established in a grocery shop in Bolton in 1876 by Thomas and Ellen Warburton and the business is now run by the fifth generation of the family.
