AN INTRUDER walked into a woman's home, stripped off and got into her bed, a court heard.

The terrified householder ran into the street screaming while offender Ralph Dube, 24, went to sleep, Gloucester Crown Court was told on Friday.

Although Dube, of Valley Gardens, Kingsway, did not harm the woman on October 9 last year, he was charged with common assault because she had been terrified by the ordeal. He admitted the offence.

Dube entered the property in Podsmead by the front door, walked into the bedroom, removed his jeans and top and got into bed next to the woman, the court was told.

Dube also admitted further charges of common assault, child abduction, theft, disorder, being drunk and disorderly, refusing to disperse, racially harassing a PC and possessing a bladed article between August and November last year.

He was jailed for three years. In his defence, the court heard Dube had been drinking and could not explain why he had entered the house.
